Tutorials How To Manual MIDI and Audio
To get started quickly from scratch, select the Choir template. This will automatically create a Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass staff with appropriate clefs, on top of a piano part. Alternately, you can start with an arrangement from an existing MIDI file, MusicXML file or QuickScore file.
In the Track sheet you can quickly enter the key signature, time signature, beat and tempo.
Enter notes using the mouse, the built-in virtual keyboard, a MIDI keyboard, MIDI guitar or breath controller, or any other controller attached to your computer.
Enter up to four levels of lyrics on each staff. This can be done in a single step and it is easy to go back and fix things as you go along. Select the pencil tool and the L in the object palette and then click the mouse on the note for the first lyric you want to enter. Type in the lyric. Now press the TAB key to move the cursor to the next note. Continue typing and going from note to note using the TAB key (and SHIFT+TAB key to go backwards). If you want to enter a single hyphen between two syllables, enter CTRL+-(dash). Change the lyric level by selecting the appropriate lyric number from the lyric list box at the right of the Score Editor control area.
QuickScore automatically adjusts the spacing of lyrics as you enter them so that they don't overlap each other. This saves a lot of time which would otherwise be taken respacing music to avoid overlapping lyrics, and allows tighter and better-looking arrangements.
Add your piano or orchestral reduction accompaniment on the piano treble and bass staves, or delete the piano tracks using the Track menu or Track Sheet if your are arranging for a capella choir.
Add titles, composer credits, headers and footers using Display>Titles>Score.
Add tempo and dynamic markings using symbols from the symbols palette.
