Sion Software has released QuickAudio 2.1, the latest version of their free audio editing program.
Now QuickAudio makes it easy to transfer a section of audio to a new file - just select, copy, choose a new file and paste. And now you can move the cursor with sample accuracy using the left and right arrow keys, updating the time display as you move. (November 8, 2012)
The first thing you'll notice is how much of your music you can see at once. Edit as many bars as will fit on your screen or see multiple pages as they will be printed. You've also got the key information on each track at your fingertips instead of having to go to the Track Sheet and back every time you want to check something or change it. There are also some nice improvements to make it easier and faster to make arrangements. For example notes are automatically checked that they're in the correct range for the instrument they're being written for. Notes out of range are flagged in red if they can't be played or in green if they're outside the comfortable range. And you can now move music from track to track in one step using the Score Editor or the Song Editor. Not to mention that you can quickly change the playback rate for your entire piece without adjusting your tempo changes and save audio files using the latest Windows audio drivers without having to worry about what output line you're using. Copyist for Windows 4.0 provides you with all the tools you need for creating a score from the ground up, or for fine tuning a score created in QuickScore Deluxe, Professional or Elite.
Copyist treats notes, staves, clefs and other musical characters as graphical elements, and allows you the freedom to place elements on the page regardless of musical rules. This freedom allows you to easily create small excerpts to be included in work that is predominantly text, as well as very complex scores which are very difficult to create using software which must follow musical rules.
